About
About Bushcraft Base
Bushcraft Base is a resource for anyone in the UK looking to get started with bushcraft. No survival show dramatics, no extreme endurance tests — just practical, grounded advice for people who want to spend more time outdoors and pick up some useful skills along the way.
The guides here cover everything from basic fire lighting and shelter building through to foraging, knife skills, and understanding land access laws. All of it written with UK conditions, UK seasons, and UK regulations in mind.
Our Approach
We do not claim decades of personal wilderness experience. What we do is research extensively, test gear and techniques in real British woodlands, and summarise feedback from UK outdoorspeople who have already made the mistakes so you do not have to.
If we have not tested something ourselves, we say so. If there is a catch you will not read about in the glossy catalogues, we mention it. Every guide is checked against authoritative UK sources — Woodland Trust, Forestry England, and current UK supplier data — before publishing.
